NL: Het Nederlandse patrouilleschip HNLMS Groningen P843 van de Koninklijke Marine lag begin februari 2024 aangemeerd aan het cruiseponton in Antwerpen. Het schip kwam op vrijdag 2 februari aan rond 10:00u en bleef liggen tot dinsdag 5 februari 10:00u. Het doel van het bezoek was recreatie voor de bemanning.

EN: The Dutch patrol ship HNLMS Groningen P843 of the Royal Netherlands Navy was docked at the cruise pontoon in Antwerp in early February 2024. The ship arrived on Friday February 2nd at 10:00h and remained moored until Tuesday February 5th 10:00h. The purpose of the visit was recreation for the crew.

NL: HLNMS Groningen werd op 21 april 2011 gedoopt en kwam officieel
in dienst op 29 november 2013. Het is het vierde en laatste schip van de
Hollandklasse. De schepen werden ontworpen als Ocean Patrol Vessels en worden
onder andere ingezet om te surveilleren in de territoriale wateren. Ze voeren
ook vaak douanetaken uit en houden grip op de visserij en de milieubescherming.
De vier schepen zijn elk 108 meter lang en 16 meter breed en
halen een snelheid van 22 knopen of 40,7 km/u. Aan boord is standaard een
50-koppige bemanning. Achteraan het schip bevind zich een helikopterplatform en
een hangaar waar een helikopter van het type NH90 is past.
In april 2016 lag HNLMS Holland ook voor enkele dagen in
Antwerpen. Toen lag het schip nog aangemeerd aan de oude cruiseterminal aan het
Zuiderterras.

EN: HLNMS Groningen was christened on 21 April 2011 and
officially entered service on 29 November 2013. It is the fourth and last ship
of the Holland class. The ships were designed as Ocean Patrol Vessels and are
used, among other things, to conduct surveillance in the territorial waters.
They also often perform customs duties and keep a grip on fisheries and
environmental protection.
The four vessels are each 108 metres long and 16 metres wide
and reach speeds of 22 knots or 40.7 km/h. On board is a 50-strong crew as
standard. At the back of the ship is a helicopter platform and hangar where an
NH90-type helicopter can be stored.
In April 2016, one
of the sister ships, HNLMS Holland, also visited Antwerp for a few days. Back
then, the ship was still docked at the old cruise terminal on Zuiderterras.
