NL: Cruise Port Antwerp heeft de officiële lijst met
cruiseaanlopen voor 2016 bekend gemaakt. Met 23 aanlopen is er een lichte stijging
ten opzichte van vorig jaar maar het aantal verschillende schepen ligt wel veel
hoger dit jaar. In totaal zullen maarliefst 19 verschillende cruiseschepen
aanmeren in de Scheldestad.
EN: Cruise Port Antwerp has released the official list of cruise calls for
2016. With 23 calls there is a slight rise in comparison to last year's season
but the number of different ships has risen significantly. Not less than 19
different cruise ships will visit in the city this year.

NL: Het seizoen start dit jaar op 19 maart met de komst van
een vaste bezoeker. Namelijk de MS Balmoral van Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. Als
het schip nu terug in Antwerpen zal liggen zal het echter een compleet ander
zicht zijn. Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines besloot eind vorig jaar hun volledige
vloot om te schilderen met een donkergrijze romp met een rode streep. Ook de
Braemar die op 13 en 14 april naar de stad komt heeft het nieuwe kleurenschema.
Tijdens de maand mei verwacht
Antwerpen 5 cruiseschepen. De twee meest opvallende bezoekers zijn de Ocean
Majesty en The World. Voor de klassieke Ocean Majesty is het de maiden call in
Antwerpen. The World, het enige cruiseschip ter wereld waarop men een
appartement kan kopen en de wereld kan rondreizen, zal voor de derde keer een
paar dagen in de stad aanmeren. Het is al van 2011 geleden dat het schip in
Antwerpen lag.
In juni komen er maar twee
schepen naar de stad, maar het zijn wel de twee grootste schepen voor 2016. Na twaalf
jaar zal de 238 meter lange Crystal Symphony terug naar Antwerpen komen. Het is
tien jaar geleden dat er nog een schip van Crystal Cruises in de stad lag. Op
17 juni meert het grootste schip voor het jaar aan. De Marina van Oceania
Cruises is 239 meter en komt voor de allereerste keer naar Antwerpen.
Tijdens de zomermaanden komen er
dit jaar ook verschillende schepen langs. Begin juli komt het kleine
expeditiecruiseschip National Geographic Orion voor de eerste keer naar
Antwerpen. Vlak daarna zal Antwerpen in de ban zijn van de The Tall Ships
Races, die vertrekt in de stad. Veder meren de Silver Wind van Silversea en de
Insignia en Marina van Oceania Cruises opnieuw aan in de stad. Ook de
Prinsendam van Holland America Line bezoekt de Scheldestad opnieuw.
Ook in het najaar staan er nog
een hele hoop schepen op het programma. Daarbij zitten onder meer nog 3 maiden
calls. Zo zal de Azamara Quest voor het eerst naar de stad komen. Ook de
Artania van Phoenix Reisen en Hamburg van Plantours Kreuzfahrten zullen voor
het eerst koers zetten op onze stad.
Om het jaar af te sluiten zullen
er opnieuw een paar kerstcruises naar Antwerpen komen. Momenteel zal Magellan
drie keer naar Antwerpen komen en de mogelijkheid bestaat nog dat ook de
cruiseferry Pont-Aven nog toegevoegd zal worden aan de lijst.

March with a regular visitor; the MS Balmoral from Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.
But when the ship will be back in Antwerp it will be a completely different
sight this year. Near the end of last year Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines decided to
repaint their complete fleet with a dark grey hull and a red stripe. Also
Braemar, who will be in the city on April 13th and 14th, already has the new
colour scheme.
During the
month of May Antwerp is expecting 5 cruise ships. The two most striking
visitors are the Ocean Majesty and The World. The classic Ocean Majesty will
make its maiden call in Antwerp. The World, the only cruise ship on which you
can buy an apartment and travel around the world, will dock in the city for the
third time. The last time the ship was docked in Antwerp was in 2011.
In June
there will only come two ships to the city, but they are the biggest ships of
2016. After twelve years the 238 metres long Crystal Symphony will come back to
Antwerp. It has been ten years since a
ship from Crystal Cruises was docked in the city. On June 17th the largest ship
of the year will berth at the terminal. The Marina from Oceania Cruises has a
length of 239 metres and will make her maiden call in Antwerp.
This year
several ships will also visit the city during the summer months. At the
beginning of July the small expedition cruise ships National Geographic Orion
will come to Antwerp for the first time. Right after Antwerp will be the decor
of The Tall Ships Races, who have their starting point in the city. Further,
the Silver Wind from Silversea and the Insignia and Marina from Oceania Cruises
will visit Antwerp again. The Prinsendam will also make an appearance in the
city.
Also in
fall the city is to expect several ships. Three of those ships are maiden

To wrap up
the year there are again a few Christmas cruises planned to Antwerp. At the
moment Magellan is scheduled to make three calls and there is still a chance
that the cruise-ferry Pont-Aven will be added to the list.
