Antwerpen – Cruiseseizoen 2025 / Cruise Season 2025

NL: Dit jaar laat het eerste zeecruiseschip lang op zich wachten, maar op 29 & 30 april opent MS Balmoral het cruiseseizoen voor 2025 in Antwerpen. In totaal staan er voor dit jaar 21 aanlopen aangemeld. Drie schepen zullen voor de eerste keer de stad bezoeken.

EN: This year's first sea cruise ship is a long time coming, but on 29 & 30 April, MS Balmoral will open the 2025 cruise season in Antwerp. A total of 21 calls are registered for this year. Three ships will visit the city for the first time.

NL: Het cruiseseizoen van Antwerpen wordt in 2025 geopend door MS Balmoral. Het Britse schip van Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is een vaste waarde geworden aan de Scheldekaaien en haar aanloop op 29 & 30 april zal de 22^ste keer zijn dat het 218-meter lange cruiseschip te zien is in Antwerpen.

Voor het eerstvolgende zeecruiseschip moeten we bijna een maand wachten, tot 24 mei. Dan zal MS Star Pride van Windstar Cruises voor de eerste keer naar Antwerpen komen. In 2013 was het schip wel nog te zien in de stad met haar oude naam, MS Seabourn Pride. Star Pride is de eerste van drie ‘Maiden Calls’ voor 2025.

Begin juni krijgen we 4 aanlopen kort achter elkaar. Het kleine cruiseschip MS Clio komt twee keer op bezoek en ook de World Voyager brengt ons opnieuw een bezoek. De vierde aanloop voor juni wordt gedaan door de Seven Seas Navigator. Voor het schip wordt het het vijfde, maar ook laatste bezoek aan Antwerpen. Recent werd aangekondigd dat het schip eind 2026 verkocht wordt aan de nieuwe rederij Cresent Seas. Na de aanloop in juni 2025 staat het schip niet meer gepland om langs Antwerpen te komen.

EN: Antwerp's cruise season will be opened by MS Balmoral in 2025. The British ship of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has become a fixture at the Scheldt quays and her call on 29 & 30 April will be the 22nd time that the 218-metre-long cruise ship will be seen in Antwerp.

For the next sea cruise ship, we will have to wait almost a month, until 24 May. Then Windstar Cruises' MS Star Pride will visit Antwerp for the first time. In 2013, however, the ship could still be seen in the city with her old name, MS Seabourn Pride. Star Pride is the first of three 'Maiden Calls' for 2025.

In early June, we get four calls in quick succession. The small cruise ship MS Clio visits twice and the World Voyager also pays us another visit. The fourth call for June will be made by the Seven Seas Navigator. For the ship, it will be the fifth, but also last visit to Antwerp. It was recently announced that the ship will be sold to the new shipping company Cresent Seas at the end of 2026. After the June 2025 call, the ship is no longer scheduled to visit Antwerp.

NL: In juli en augustus komen er telkens twee cruiseschepen op bezoek. In juli krijgen we eerst het luxecruiseschip MS Europa 2 te zien aan de Scheldekaaien. Daarna is het de beurt aan MS Vista, het nieuwste schip van de Amerikaanse luxerederij Oceania Cruises en ook de tweede Maiden Call voor 2025. Met haar lengte van 242 meter is MS Vista het ook grootste schip voor dit jaar. In augustus komen nog Le Lapérouse van Ponant en Seven Seas Mariner van Regent Seven Seas langs.

De derde en laatste Maiden Call voor 2025 is het nieuwe luxecruisejacht MS Ilma van de luxerederij ‘Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’ in september. Deze rederij is een onderdeel van de gelijknamige luxueuze hotelketen. Het bijna 242 meter lange schip zal op 5 & 6 september aanmeren aan de Scheldekaaien. Verder zullen ook Azamara Quest en Sirena Antwerpen bezoeken en ook Clio zal nog een derde aanloop maken.

Oktober wordt de Duitse maand voor het cruiseseizoen. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises komt twee keer op bezoek: één keer met de Europa, en één keer met hun expeditiecruiseschip HANSEATIC Nature. Om af te sluiten komt ook MS Hamburg van Plantours Kreuzfahrten opnieuw langs.

In November staan er geen aanlopen gepland maar in December krijgen we nog 4 Engelse schepen aan de Scheldekaaien. MS Ambition staat twee keer gepland, en ook de 236-meter lange Spirit of Discovery staat opnieuw aangemeld. Het seizoen zal op 20 & 21 december afgesloten worden door hetzelfde schip dat het ook opende, namelijk MS Balmoral.

EN: In July and August, two cruise ships will visit each time. In July, we will first get to see the luxury cruise ship MS Europa 2 at the Scheldt Quays. Then it will be the turn of MS Vista, the newest ship of US luxury line Oceania Cruises and also the second Maiden Call for 2025. At 242 metres long, MS Vista is also the largest ship for this year. Le Lapérouse from Ponant and Seven Seas Mariner from Regent Seven Seas are still coming along in August.

The third and final Maiden Call for 2025 will be the new luxury cruise yacht MS Ilma from luxury cruise line 'Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection' in September. This shipping company is part of the luxury hotel chain of the same name. The nearly 242-metre-long ship will dock at the Scheldt Quays on 5 & 6 September. Furthermore, Azamara Quest and Sirena will also visit Antwerp and Clio will also make a third call.

October will be the German month of the cruise season. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will visit twice: once with the Europa, and once with their expedition cruise ship HANSEATIC Nature. To close the month, MS Hamburg of Plantours Kreuzfahrten will also pay a visit to Antwerp again.

No calls are scheduled in November, but in December we will have four more English ships at the Scheldt quays. MS Ambition is scheduled twice, and the 236-metre Spirit of Discovery is also registered again. The season will be closed on 20 & 21 December by the same ship that opened it, MS Balmoral.
