NL: Het luxe-expeditiecruiseschip MS World Voyager van Atlas Ocean Voyages lag op 5 & 6 juni 2025 opnieuw aangemeerd in Antwerpen. De stad wordt dit jaar door de Amerikaanse rederij gebruikt als turnaround-haven waarbij een nieuwe cruise wordt gestart.

ship MS World Voyager was once again docked in Antwerp on 5 & 6 June 2025. The city will be used by the US cruise line
as a turnaround port this year, starting a new cruise.
NL: MS World Voyager komt op 5 juni voor de tweede keer naar Antwerpen. Onze stad is de eindhaven van een cruise vanuit Lissabon. Na de aankomst mogen de passagiers nog tot 6 juni ’s morgens aan boord blijven. In de namiddag zullen dan nieuwe passagiers inschepen voor een cruise van Antwerpen naar Leith, de voorstad van het Schotse Edinburgh.
Het 126 meter lange schip werd in
2020 gebouwd als één van zeven zusterschepen bij de Portugese scheepswerf ‘West Sea Shipyard’ in Viana do Castelo. Alle
schepen werden gebouwd in opdracht van de Portugese rederij Mystic Cruises. Die
chartert de schepen aan andere rederijen, waaronder ook Atlas Ocean Voyages.
Elk schip heeft plaats voor 200 gasten en is gebouwd met een versterkte romp om
ook in de poolgebieden te kunnen varen.
Het is de tweede keer dat MS
World Voyager Antwerpen bezocht. Tijdens het vorige bezoek op 22 mei 2022 voer
het schip nog voor de Duitse rederij Nicko Cruises, een andere zusterrederij van
Mystic Cruises. In 2023 werd de charter vroegtijdig stopgezet door slechte
boekingsresultaten. MS World Voyager werd daarop overgenomen door Atlas Ocean
Voyages.

Voyager is visiting Antwerp for the second time on 5 June. Our city is the
final port of a cruise from Lisbon. After the arrival, passengers may stay on
board until the morning of 6 June. In the afternoon, new passengers will then
embark for a cruise from Antwerp to Leith, the port of Edinburgh in Scotland.
The 126-metre ship was built in
2020 as one of seven sister ships at Portuguese shipyard 'West Sea Shipyard' in
Viana do Castelo. All ships were built on behalf of the Portuguese company
Mystic Cruises. The latter charters the ships to other shipping companies,
including Atlas Ocean Voyages. Each ship has room for 200 guests and is built
with a reinforced hull to be able to sail in polar regions as well.
It is the second time MS World
Voyager has visited Antwerp. During the previous visit on 22 May 2022, the ship
still sailed for German cruise line Nicko Cruises, another sister company of
Mystic Cruises. In 2023, the charter was terminated early due to poor booking
results. MS World Voyager was subsequently taken over by Atlas Ocean Voyages.
