Antwerpen – Officiële Cruiselijst 2020 / Official Cruise List 2020

NL: Cruise Port Antwerp heeft de officiële lijst met zeecruiseaanlopen voor 2020 gepubliceerd. Met wat geluk evenaren we dit jaar het recordseizoen van 2001 met maarliefst 41 aanlopen. Vijf schepen zullen Antwerpen voor de eerste keer bezoeken en ook het residentieschip The World komt terug naar de stad in 2020.

EN: Cruise Port Antwerp has published the official list of sea cruise calls for 2020. With some luck we will match the record season of 2001 with no less than 41 calls this year. Five ships will visit Antwerp for the first time and the residence ship The World will also return to the city in 2020.

NL: Momenteel staan er maarliefst 41 aanlopen van zeecruiseschepen gepland in 2020. Dat is een grote stijging tegenover de 33 aanlopen van 2019. Het is momenteel wel nog afwachten of het aantal zo hoog zal blijven omdat de vijf aanlopen van MS Columbus van Cruise & Maritime Voyages nog bevestigd moeten worden. Maar zelfs zonder die aanlopen stevenen we nog steeds af op één van de beste seizoenen in jaren.

EN: At the moment, no fewer than 41 calls by sea cruise ships are planned for 2020. This is a large increase compared to the 33 calls in 2019. However, it remains to be seen whether the number will remain this high because the five calls of MS Columbus of Cruise & Maritime Voyages have yet to be confirmed. But even without them, we are still heading for one of the best seasons in years.

Vaste waarden / Regulars

NL: De meest terugkerende rederij is dit jaar opnieuw Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. De Engelse rederij bezoekt Antwerpen dit jaar maarliefst 11 keer. Deze aanlopen worden verdeeld onder de vier schepen uit hun vloot: MS Balmoral, MS Braemar, MS Black Watch en MS Boudicca. Ook de andere Engelse rederij, Cruise & Maritime Voyages keert terug naar Antwerpen. Het is momenteel nog onduidelijk of de aanlopen van MS Columbus al dan niet zullen doorgaan. Wat wel vast staat is dat MS Magellan in december opnieuw langskomt. Het schip werd recent herschilderd in de nieuwe huisstijl van de rederij, namelijk een donkerblauw romp met twee witte strepen.

Ook de Duitse rederijen zijn opnieuw goed vertegenwoordig dit jaar. Dit jaar mag de kleurrijke rederij AIDA Cruises op 6 februari het cruiseseizoen openen met hun oudste schip MS AIDAcara. Later in het jaar komt de rederij nog drie keer terug met MS AIDAvita. Phoenix Reisen komt ook terug naar Antwerpen met MS Artania en na lange tijd komt MS Albatros, het derde zusterschip van MS Boudicca en MS Black Watch, ook nog eens terug. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises stuur dit jaar enkel MS Europa 2 naar hier. Een heel speciale gast dit jaar is MS Sea Cloud II van Sea Cloud Cruises. Dit zeilschip dat specifiek wordt ingezet om cruises te varen was hier voor het laatst te zien in 2010. Ook TransOcean Kreuzfahrten komt dit jaar twee keer terug met MS Astor. Dit jaar zal denkelijk de laatste keer zijn dat het schip onder die naam te zien is in Antwerpen want het schip wordt in 2021 omgedoopt tot MS Jules Verne. Ook MS Vasco Da Gama zal in het najaar twee keer langskomen.

EN: The most returning shipping company this year is again Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. The English shipping company will visit Antwerp 11 times this year. These calls are divided among the four ships in their fleet: MS Balmoral, MS Braemar, MS Black Watch and MS Boudicca. The other English shipping company, Cruise & Maritime Voyages, is also returning to Antwerp. At the moment it is still unclear whether or not the calls of MS Columbus will take place. What is certain is that MS Magellan will visit again in December. The ship was recently repainted in the new house style of the cruise line, namely a dark blue hull with two white stripes.

The German shipping companies are again well represented this year. This year the colorful company AIDA Cruises will open the cruise season with their oldest ship MS AIDAcara on the 6th of February. Later in the year they will return three more times with MS AIDAvita. Phoenix Reisen also returns to Antwerp with MS Artania and after a long time MS Albatros, the third sister ship of MS Boudicca and MS Black Watch, also returns. This year, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will only send MS Europa 2 to Antwerp. A very special guest this year is MS Sea Cloud II of Sea Cloud Cruises. This tall ship, which is used specifically for cruises, last visited in 2010. Also TransOcean Kreuzfahrten comes back twice this year with MS Astor. This year will probably be the last time that the ship can be seen under that name in Antwerp, as the ship will be renamed MS Jules Verne in 2021. MS Vasco Da Gama will also visit twice in the autumn.

NL: De Amerikaanse rederij Holland America Line keert ook terug naar Antwerpen. Nu hun vroegere vaste waarde in onze stad, MS Prinsendam, rondvaart voor Phoenix Reisen als MS Amera, stuurt men MS Veendam voor de eerste keer naar Antwerpen ter vervanging. Het schip is een zusterschip van MS Vasco Da Gama en zal Antwerpen drie keer bezoeken in 2020. Seabourn komt dit jaar ook opnieuw één keer langs met MS Seabourn Quest en voor Regent Seven Seas Cruises krijgen we bezoek van MS Seven Seas Navigator.

EN: The American company Holland America Line also returns to Antwerp. Their regular visitor to our city, MS Prinsendam, is now cruising for Phoenix Reisen as MS Amera. To replace her they are sending MS Veendam to Antwerp for the first time. The ship is a sister ship of MS Vasco Da Gama and will visit Antwerp three times in 2020. Seabourn will also visit once again this year with MS Seabourn Quest and for Regent Seven Seas Cruises we get a visit from MS Seven Seas Navigator.

Expeditie / Expedition

NL: Verder komen er ook nog een aantal speciale schepen naar de stad zoals het residentieschip MS The World dat eind juli enkele dagen zal aanmeren aan het Zuiderterras. Ook het expeditieschip MS National Geographic Explorer komt naar Antwerpen. Dat schip komt op dezelfde naar Antwerpen als MS Boudicca. Waar het schip exact zal aanmeren wordt nog bekeken. MS Hamburg van Plantours Kreuzfahrten zal ook opnieuw naar Antwerpen komen. En ook Ponant lijkt de Scheldestad in hun vaste vaarroutes opgenomen te hebben. Zij sturen dit jaar twee van hun nieuwe expeditiejachten voor de eerste keer naar hier. Namelijk MS Le Bellot en MS Le Jacques Cartier.

EN: There are also a number of special ships coming to the city, such as the residence ship MS The World, which will moor at the Zuiderterras for a few days at the end of July. The expedition ship MS National Geographic Explorer is also coming to Antwerp. That ship will come to Antwerp on the same day as MS Boudicca. Where the ship will dock exactly is still under review. MS Hamburg from Plantours Kreuzfahrten will also come to Antwerp again.  And also Ponant seems to have included the city in their fixed shipping routes. NL: Helemaal op het einde van het seizoen, in december, krijgen we nog een mooie afsluiter. Na zes jaar afwezigheid komt Saga Cruises terug naar Antwerpen. Ze sturen meteen hun nieuwste en grootste schip naar hier: de 236 meter lange MS Spirit of Discovery.

EN: Right at the end of the season, in December, we get a nice ending. After six years of absence, Saga Cruises returns to Antwerp. They immediately send their newest and largest ship here: the 236 meter long MS Spirit of Discovery.

Nieuwe cruiseterminal / New cruise terminal

NL: De werken aan de nieuwe cruiseterminal aan Het Steen vorderen ook gestaag. Het gebouw zou in het najaar van 2020 opgeleverd worden, maar voor het volledige cruiseseizoen van 2020 zullen de schepen nog aanmeren aan de cruiseterminal aan het Zuiderterras. Ook aan het nieuwe cruiseponton wordt hard gewerkt. Als alles goed gaat, wordt het tegen juni-juli naar het Noorderterras gevaren. De verdere assemblage ervan zal rond de zomermaanden gebeuren.

Momenteel is het de bedoeling dat de schepen vanaf het cruiseseizoen van 2021 hun ligplaats aan het Zuiderterras definitief inruilen voor die aan het cruiseponton aan het Noorderterras.

EN: The work on the new cruise terminal at Het Steen is also progressing steadily. The building is scheduled to be delivered in the autumn of 2020, but for the entire cruise season of 2020, the ships will still dock at the cruise terminal on the Zuiderterras. Hard work is also being done on the new cruise pontoon. If all goes well, it will sail to the Noorderterras between June and July. Further assembly will take place around the summer months.

At the moment it is the intention that from the cruise season of 2021 the ships will definitively exchange their berths at the Zuiderterras for those at the Noorderterras cruise pontoon.

Cruiseferry Pont-Aven Closes Cruise Season 2019 in Antwerpen

NL: De cruiseferry Pont-Aven van de Franse ferrymaatschappij Brittany Ferries lag op 25 en 26 december 2019 naar goede gewoonte opnieuw aangemeerd in Antwerpen. Met de komst van het schip wordt het Antwerpse cruiseseizoen van 2019 afgesloten. In totaal kwamen er 33 zeecruises naar de stad.

EN: The cruise-ferry Pont-Aven of the French ferry company Brittany Ferries was like in previous years once again docked in Antwerp on 25 and 26 December 2019. The call of the ship also ended the cruise season of 2019. A total of 33 sea cruises visited the city this year.

NL: De cruiseferry Pont-Aven van de Franse rederij Brittany Ferries mocht al voor de vierde keer het cruiseseizoen in Antwerpen afsluiten. Dit jaar week de cruiseferry opnieuw af van haar vaste vaarroutes om een kerstcruise van Portsmouth in Engeland naar Antwerpen te varen. Het schip overnachtte in Antwerpen van 25 op 26 december, om daarna opnieuw koers te zetten naar Portsmouth. Voor Nieuwjaar wordt er nog een speciale cruise gevaren naar Rouen in Frankrijk.

EN: For the fourth time the cruise-ferry Pont-Aven of the French ferry company Brittany Ferries had the honour to close the cruise season in Antwerp. This year the cruise ferry once again deviated from its normal itinerary to sail a Christmas cruise from Portsmouth in England to Antwerp. The ship stayed overnight in Antwerp on 25 and 26 December, after which it once again set course for Portsmouth. During New Year there will be a second festive cruise to Rouen in France.

Cruiseseizoen/Cruise Season 2019 & 2020

NL: Het cruiseseizoen van 2019 is weer voorbij. In totaal mocht Antwerpen dit jaar 33 zeecruises verwelkomen. Doordat maarliefst 20 schepen overnachtten in de stad konden er 53 ligdagen genoteerd worden. Antwerpen mocht dit jaar ook vijf schepen voor de eerste keer verwelkomen. Hieronder viel ook het nagelnieuwe expeditiecruiseschip MS HANSEATIC Inspiration dat vanuit Antwerpen haar maiden voyage startte.

Voor volgend jaar ziet het ernaar uit dat het een nog beter seizoen wordt. We verwachten dat er ongeveer 40 aanlopen zullen zijn. In het voorjaar van volgend jaar kunnen we met zekerheid zeggen hoeveel schepen er echt gaan komen. Er zullen ook opnieuw vijf schepen voor het eerst naar Antwerpen komen waaronder MS Spirit of Discovery, het nieuwste schip van de Engelse rederij Saga Cruises. Ponant zal ook twee van hun nieuwe expeditiejachten naar de stad sturen.

EN: The cruise season of 2019 has ended. This year Antwerp was able to welcome a total of 33 sea cruises. Not less than 20 ships stayed overnight in the city, which resulted in 53 berth days. Five ships also visited Antwerp for the first time this year.

Next year is looking to be even better than the season of 2019. We expect around 40 cruise calls next year. In Spring 2020 we will be able to tell exactly how many ships will actually come to the city. Five ships will be visiting the city for the first time. One of those ships will be the newest addition to the fleet of Saga Cruises: MS Spirit of Discovery. Ponant will also send two of their new expedition yachts our way.

Maiden Voyage MS HANSEATIC Inspiration in Antwerpen 2019

NL: Het nagelnieuwe luxe-expeditiecruiseschip MS HANSEATIC Inspiration lag maandag 14 oktober 2019 voor de eerste keer aangemeerd in Antwerpen. Het schip verwelkomde haar eerste passagiers aan boord en begon haar allereerste officiële cruise vanuit de Scheldestad.

EN: The brand new luxury expedition cruise ship MS HANSEATIC Inspiration was docked in Antwerp for the first time on October 14th 2019.The ship welcomed its first passengers on board and started its very first official cruise from the city.

NL: MS HANSEATIC Inspiration is het tweede van drie expeditiecruiseschepen die door de Duitse rederij Hapag-Lloyd Cruises besteld werden. Op 11 oktober werd het schip in Hamburg gedoopt door de Nederlandse Laura Dekker, de jongste persoon ooit die alleen rond de wereld heeft gevaren. 

EN: MS HANSEATIC Inspiration is the second of three expedition cruise ships that were ordered by the German company Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. On October 11^th the ship was christened in Hamburg by the Dutch Laura Dekker, the youngest person to ever sail around the world on her own. 

Maiden Voyage

NL: Normaal gezien zou de doop van het schip plaatsgevonden hebben in Antwerpen op 13 oktober maar door het strakke tijdschema was het organisatorisch niet meer mogelijk om dat plan uit te voeren. Daarom werd er gekozen voor de thuishaven van de rederij, namelijk Hamburg. De allereerste reis of ‘Maiden Voyage’ vertrok wel nog altijd vanuit de Scheldestad. Op dinsdagochtend 15 oktober vertrok het schip met haar 230 passagiers richting Honfleur in Frankrijk om na 15 dagen aan te komen op Tenerife. Van daaruit zal het schip verder varen naar het Zuiden om uiteindelijk aan te komen in Antarctica. Om in die wateren te kunnen varen werd het schip ook voorzien van een versterkte romp. HANSEATIC Inspiration is, in tegenstelling tot haar zusterschip HANSEATIC Nature, ook in de mogelijkheid om door de sluizen te geraken van The Great Lakes. Hiervoor werden de brugvleugels van het schip inklapbaar gemaakt.

EN: Normally the christening of the ship would have taken place in Antwerp on October 13th but due to the challenging time schedule it was no longer possible to go through with this plan. Therefore it was chosen to christen the ship in its home-port Hamburg,  but the very first cruise, or ‘Maiden Voyage’ did still depart from Antwerp as planned. On Tuesday morning October 15^th the ship departed to Honfleur in France with its 230 passengers. After 15 days the ship would arrive at Tenerife. From there the ship would sail further South to finally arrive in Antarctica. For sailing in these water this ship has been specially built with a strengthened hull. HANSEATIC Inspiration is, contrary to its sister ship HANSEATIC nature, also in the possibility to sail through the locks of The Great Lakes. For this the bridge wings have been made to fold into the ship.

Expeditie / Expedition

NL: Het schip is volledig uitgerust met alles wat je nodig hebt tijdens een expeditiecruise. Op het bovenste dek, achter de schouw, bevinden zich verschillende zodiacs om op plaatsen waar geen haven is toch aan wal te kunnen gaan. Een deel van de zodiacvloot is trouwens ook elektrisch. De reden dat nog niet alle zodiacs elektrisch zijn is omdat het een nieuwe technologie is die nog niet volledig op punt staat.  Verder zijn er ook kajaks en paddle boards aan boord. Bij elke ‘landing’ met de zodiacs moet iedereen ook verplicht zijn of haar schoenen desinfecteren om geen bacteriën te verspreiden. Hiervoor vind je op dek 3 een speciale constructie met borstels.

EN: The ship is fully equipped with everything you could ask for during an expedition cruise. On the upper deck, behind the funnel, there is a small fleet of zodiacs to go on land at places without a harbour. A part of the zodiacs is also electric, but due to the fact that this technology is still very new not all zodiacs could be that way. Furthermore there are also kayaks and paddle boards on board. With each ‘zodiac landing’ all people mandatorily have to disinfect their shoes to not spread any bacteria. For this there is a special station with brushes to disinfect your shoes on deck 3.    

NL: Het interieur van het schip is zeer licht en overal wordt er gebruik gemaakt van hout en natuurlijke kleuren. Opmerkelijk is ook het gebruik van LED-wanden doorheen het schip. Hierop worden constant beelden afgespeeld van de verschillende biotopen waar het schip naartoe vaart. De licht kleuren zijn ook terug te vinden in de verschillende restaurants. Er bevinden zich in totaal drie restaurants aan boord: het hoofdrestaurant, een tweede in buffetvorm en nog een Aziatisch specialiteitrestaurant.

EN: The interior of the ship is very light with the use of wood and natural colours. Remarkable is the use of LED-walls throughout the ship. On these walls there are constantly playing video images of the different biotopes the ship visits. The light colours can also be found in the three different restaurants that can be found on board: the main dining room, a second restaurant in buffet form and an Asian speciality restaurant.

NL: Op verschillende plaatsen in het schip kunnen de passagiers ook bijleren over de gebieden waarin ze vertoeven. Er worden elke dag lezingen gegeven door verschillende experts, maar de passagiers kunnen ook zelf op onderzoek gaan in de Ocean Academy. Aan de hand van een meterslang interactief beeldscherm kan men bijleren over de meest uiteenlopende onderwerpen. Er zijn ook verschillende microscopen ter beschikking die vrij te gebruiken zijn.

Natuurlijk bevindt er zich ook een zwembad aan boord op het bovendek en is er een grote spa waar met allerlei natuurlijke producten gewerkt wordt. De grote focus aan boord ligt niet op het entertainment maar op het beleven van de gebieden die bezocht worden.

EN: At several places throughout the ship the passengers can also learn about the areas where they are sailing. Everyday there are specialised lectures being performed by experts, but the passengers can also explorer on their own in the Ocean Academy. Thanks to a metres long interactive monitor they can discover interesting information about a wide variety of topics. In this space there are also several microscopes that are free for anyone to use.

Of course there is also a swimming pool on board, located on the upper deck, and there is a large spa where a large selection of natural products is used. The big focus on board is certainly not on the entertainment, but on experiencing the places that are visited.

Maiden Call MS Vasco Da Gama in Antwerpen 2019

NL: Het cruiseschip MS Vasco Da Gama van de Duitse rederij TransOcean Kreufahrten lag op 16 september 2019 voor de eerste keer aangemeerd in Antwerpen. Het schip voer een korte cruise van Bremerhaven, rechtstreeks naar Antwerpen. Hier ontscheepten alle passagiers waarna MS Vasco Da Gama koers zette naar Amsterdam om daar in het droogdok te gaan voor een gepland werfbezoek. In totaal lag het schip maar drie en een half uur aangemeerd in Antwerpen.   

EN: The cruise ship MS Vasco Da Gama of the German cruise line TransOcean Kreuzfahrten was docked in Antwerp for the first time on September 16th 2019. The ship sailed a short cruise from Bremerhaven directly to Antwerp. All passengers disembarked in the city after which MS Vasco Da Gama set course for Amsterdam where it would go into dry dock for planned maintenance. In total the ship was only docked in Antwerp for three and a half hours.

NL: MS Vasco Da Gama is het nieuwste schip van de Engelse rederij Cruise & Maritime Voyages. Het schip wordt grotendeels ingezet voor hun Duitse vertrakking, TransOcean Kreuzfahrten. Het schip werd in 1993 gebouwd als MS Statendam voor Holland America Line. Sinds 2015 voer het als MS Pacific Eden voor P&O Cruises Australia. Begin 2019 werd het schip uiteindelijk overgenomen door Cruise & Maritime Voyages.

EN: MS Vasco Da Gama is the newest ship of the British company Cruise & Maritime Voyages, but it is mostly catered by their German subdivision Transocean Kreuzfahrten. The ship was built in 1993 as MS Statendam for Holland America Line. Since 2015 the ship sailed as MS Pacific Eden for P&O Cruises Australia. At the beginning of 2019 the ship was finally transferred to Cruise & Maritime Voyages.

HANSEATIC Inspiration | Doop verschoven naar Hamburg / Christening relocated to Hamburg

NL: De doopceremonie van het splinternieuwe expeditiecruiseschip MS HANSEATIC Inspiration in Antwerpen zal niet doorgaan en wordt verschoven naar Hamburg. De eerste reis of ‘maiden voyage’ zal wel nog steeds starten in Antwerpen op 14 oktober.

EN: The christening ceremony of the brand new expedition cruise ship MS HANSEATIC Inspiration will no longer take place in Antwerp but will instead be held in Hamburg. The first cruise or ‘maiden voyage’ will still start in Antwerp on October 14^th as planned.

NL: Hapag-Lloyd Cruises kondingde in maart 2018 aan dat ze hun nieuwste expeditiecruiseschip MS HANSEATIC Inspiration zouden dopen in Antwerpen op 13 oktober 2019. Iets meer dan een maand voor het evenement kwam nu de spijtige melding dat de doop zal plaatsvinden in Hamburg. Door het uitdagende tijdschema zal het schip vanuit de scheepswerf in Noorwegen rechtstreeks koers zetten naar Hamburg om daar de nodige voorbereidingen te treffen voor de indienstname. De allereerste reis of ‘maiden voyage’ zal nog wel steeds vertrekken uit Antwerpen op maandag 14 oktober.

EN: Hapag-Lloyd Cruises announced in March 2018 that their newest expedition cruise ship MS HANSEATIC Inspiration would be christened in Antwerp on October 13th 2019. A little over a month before the event they now sadly announced that the christening will be relocated to Hamburg. Due to the challenging time schedule the ship will depart from the shipyard in Norway and immediately set sail for Hamburg to prepare everything for taking the ship into service. The first cruise or ‘maiden voyage’ will still departed from Antwerp on Monday October 14^th as planned.

Maiden Call & Maiden Voyage MS Amera in Antwerpen 2019

NL: Het 205-meter lange cruiseschip MS Amera lag op maandag 19 augustus 2019 voor de eerste keer aangemeerd in Antwerpen. Het schip bezocht de stad tijdens haar allereerste cruise voor haar nieuwe eigenaar Phoenix Reisen.  Eind mei lag het schip nog als MS Prinsendam aangemeerd in de Scheldestad.

EN: The 205 metres long cruise ship MS Amera was docked in Antwerp for the first time on Monday August 19th 2019. The ship visited the city during its maiden voyage for its new owner Phoenix Reisen. At the end of May the ship still visited Antwerp as MS Prinsendam.

NL: MS Amera lag op maandag 19 augustus 2019 voor de eerste keer aangemeerd in Antwerpen tijdens haar maiden voyage, of allereerste cruise. Het schip werd recent gekocht door de Duitse rederij Phoenix Reisen. Voorheen voer het schip rond als MS Prinsendam voor Holland America Line. Onder die naam lag het zelfs in mei nog in Antwerpen aangemeerd.

EN: On August 19 2019 MS Amera was docked in Antwerp for the first time on her maiden voyage or very first cruise. The ship was recently bought by the German cruise line Phoenix Reisen. Previously the ship sailed as MS Prinsendam for Holland America Line. In May the ship could still be seen in Antwerp under that name.

NL: De overname door Phoenix Reisen betekent een vierde leven voor het schip. In 1988 werd het gebouwd als MS Royal Viking Sun voor Royal Viking Line in de Finse havenstad Turku. In 1999 werd het schip verkocht aan Seabourn als MS Seabourn Sun, en in 2002 was het de beurt aan Holland America Line als MS Prinsendam. Het schip was door de jaren heen ook onder al deze namen te zien in Antwerpen. MS Amera werd pas op vrijdag 16 augustus gedoopt in Bremerhaven. Tijdens haar eerste cruise vaart het schip langs Dover, Antwerpen en Amsterdam om daarna opnieuw aan te komen in Bremerhaven.

EN: The take-over by Phoenix Reisen was the beginning of the fourth life of the ship. In 1988 it was built as MS Royal Viking Sun for Royal Viking Line in the Finnish harbour city Turku. In 1999 the ship was sold to Seabourn as MS Seabourn Sun and in 2002 Holland America Line took its chance and renamed her MS Prinsendam. MS Amera was only christened in Bremerhaven on Friday August 16. During her maiden voyage the ship sailed to Dover, Antwerp and Amsterdam before returning to Bremerhaven.

Omvangrijke opknapbeurt / Extensive refurbishment

NL: Met de recente overgave aan Phoenix Reisen ging ook een grondige renovatiebeurt gepaard bij de Duitse scheepswerf Blohm+Voss in Hamburg. Er werd niet minder dan 40 miljoen euro geïnvesteerd om het schip aan te passen aan het concept van Phoenix. Niet enkel de buitenkant van het schip werd opgefrist, maar ook binnen is er veel veranderd. Er werden onder andere verschillende restaurants en bars in een volledig nieuw design gestoken, zoals Harry’s Bar en het Restaurant Amera.  Een ander voorbeeld hiervan is de gloednieuwe Piano Bar.

EN: The recent hand-over to Phoenix Reisen also included an extensive refurbishment at the German shipyard Blohm+Voss in Hamburg. Not less than 40 million Euros was invested to make the ship part of the Phoenix-concept. Not only the outside of the ship has been reworked, but the inside also changed quite extensively. Several restaurants and bars, such as Harry’s Bar and the Restaurant Amera, have been completely redesigned. Another great refurbished space is the brand new Piano Bar. 

NL: Sommige andere plaatsen in het schip bleven zo goed als onveranderd. In het Pichlers Restaurant werd enkel het tapijt vervangen en werd er niet geraakt aan het warme houtwerk. Op het bovendek zijn de veranderingen dan weer veel duidelijker. Naast de schouw werd er ook een minigolf toegevoegd en het kleine zwembad en de jacuzzi in het midden van het schip vervangen door een podium en een dansvloer. Het zwembad achteraan het schip is wel onveranderd gebleven.

EN: Some other place on board the ship almost stayed unchanged. For example, in the Pichlers Restaurant only the carpet has been changed, leaving the warm-coloured woodwork untouched. On the top deck the changed are much more noticeable. Next to the funnel a small mini golf course was erected and the small swimming pool and jacuzzi in the middle of the ship have been changed into a stage and a dancing floor. The swimming pool at the back of the ship did stay unchanged.
